The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa has said that it had seen a 45-year old man who was kidnapped in Suletankarkar Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesperson of the NSCDC in the state, CSC Adamu Shehu, revealed the incident to newsmen in Dutse on Saturday.
Adamu Shehu revealed that the victim, Malam Dauda who resides at Maigatarin Bawan Allah village in Garki LGA, was recovered unconscious beside a pond along Gumel-Babura road in Suletankarkar LGA on Thursday.
He said that the victim was hospitalized to Suletankarkar Primary Healthcare Centre by the operatives of the NSCDC, where he regained consciousness.
He said he was abducted in Dutse, on Wednesday, along Dutse-Kiyawa road after he withdrew a sum of N800,000 from a bank.
“He narrated that it was while he was trying to board a motorcycle to the motor park that a taxi pulled over and the driver asked him where he was traveling to.
“And when he told the driver that he was travelling to Garki, the driver told him to enter the car as he was also going the same way,” he said.
The Spokesperson further revealed that the victim narrated that he boarded the car having other passengers already in it, and as they got to Suletankarkar LGA, he became unconscious.
He said he couldn’t understand what was going on again until he found himself in a building together with others in captivity.
Shehu narrated that the kidnappers later communicated the family of the victims to pay N5 million as ransom which he instructed them not to pay.
“As a result, the suspected kidnappers forced him to inhale a substance which made him unconscious, only to wake up in hospital and told he was found by the pond side.
” The victim is a staff member of Local Education Authority in Garki LGA,” Shehu said.
The spokesperson of the Corps, revealed that they are working with other security agencies to arrest the suspects and secure the freedom of the remaining victims.
He, therefore, sent message of advice to members of the public not to patronize commercial vehicles at unofficial motor parks so as not to fall victims of any criminality.
