Barrister Ahmed Ibrahim Dandija, member, PDP Presidential Campaign Council
From all the available indices, Barrister Ahmed Ibrahim Dandija, who served as the Secretary to the Government of Bauchi State in the administration of former Governor Isa Yuguda is one political actor whose relevance has consistently been overwhelming within and outside Bauchi political enclave in the last two decades.
Among the pack of politicians in the State, Barrister Dandija stands out on account of his sterling attributes, which according to multiple sources had helped in no small measure to stabilize the government of Malam Yuguda from infancy in 2003 till it wined up in 2014.
While serving as the State Government Scribe, Dandija’s office could best described as ”engine room” of the then Bauchi State Government where almost virtually all the vital decisions that bothered on the well-being of Bauchi State, especially the welfare of the downtrodden were taken and executed accordingly under the leadership of his Principal, Malam Isa Yuguda.
Being a kindhearted man that he is, not a few indigent students and less privileged benefitted, and still benefitting from his generosity.
As a security enthusiast and major stakeholder in the then Bauchi State Government, often times, Dandija was saddled with the responsibility of holding brief for Principal at numerous vital security meetings; and his suggestions are views along with that of other security chiefs in the state at such meetings, according to available records had helped a lot in achieving the desired security for the administration of Malam Yuguda.
Born on 12th July 1964, Dandija who holds the prestigious traditional title of Maidalan (Kingmaker) of Misau, apparently on account of his closeness to the grassroots and respect for the traditional institution.
Dandija, a distinguished legal practitioner served as Secretary to Bauchi State Government between 2007 to 2014, where he launched several people oriented and innovative programmes that improved the lives of the people of Bauchi State.
Prior to his political appointment as SSG, Dandija, who currently serves as a member of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council had been an accomplished banker, a stockbroker and a seasoned Pension Fund Administrator.
A boardroom guru of reputable standard, apart from his exemplary records as Founder and Chairman of several blue chip companies, Dandija in equal measure has also been a very active board member of numerous thriving firms. Dandija who holds membership of several professional bodies including Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria and Nigeria and a Fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Management. currently plays enviable role in the oil and gas, agriculture and real estate sectors.
For his secondary education he attended Government Secondary School, Misau, Bauchi from where he proceeded to Bauchi College of Arts and Science, Misau, Bauchi. He later proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria to read law and Nigerian Law School respectively.
Widely travelled Dandija has attended several local and international conference across the world.
He’s married with two wives and 6 children.
