Gombe State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has arrested a bandit, kidnapper and transformer vandal at different locations.
The kidnapper, Ibrahim Musa, also known as Ruwa had been on the wanted list of the Command for an offence for which one of the four-man gang is already serving a jail term.
His other two accomplices, including the leader, are still being sought by the Command.
The Commandant, Waziri Gona told newsmen, yesterday, that Ruwa was arrested by his men in a forest at Pindiga in Shogum Local Council after a tip-off by villagers who had been in fear over his nefarious acts.
Also, Gona said the vandal, Ayuba Dauda, was arrested by his men at Kumo, while vandalising a transformer, saying: “vigilant officers arrested him with cables while vandalising transformer at Kumo. He had already confessed to the offence.”
The NSCDC boss further told newsmen that a 25-year-old bandit, Umaru Abdullahi, was arrested in a thick Wawa forest in Rotunde village, Kwami, while herding two cattle stolen from 20-year-old Abdul Alhaji.
The bandit, who confessed to the crime, told newsmen that it was his first time stealing cattle, but admitted to belonging to a six-man gang.
Recalling the incident, Alhaji said: “I was herding 60 cattle but I didn’t know he was in the area. When I rushed to control the cattle at the front, I didn’t know that he had commandeered two into the bush. I was not aware until I got home and started looking for the cattle.”
