The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), yesterday, said its officers shot a suspected kidnapper, while others escaped at Easy Gate Farm, along Abanla Ogunmakin road, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The corps’ Public Relations Officer, Oyindamola Okuneye, in a statement, said the deceased along with other suspects gained entrance to the farm to kidnap the owner of the farm.
The State Commandant, Adaralewa Michael, in the statement, said the suspected kidnappers, numbering eight, gained entry to the farm to kidnap the owner of the farm who is a foreigner, but had to engaged the gallant officers of the Corps in a gun battle in which one of them was shot dead and others escaped with bullet wounds.
“ Recall that on June 1, suspected kidnappers visited the farm to kidnap, in which one of our officers was shot during a gun battle before the attack that happened yesterday, September 28, 2022.
“Commandant Michael called on citizens of the state to join hands with all security operatives by giving credible information to them about what is happening in their communities.
“ He enjoined members of the public to inform NSCDC or the sister agencies anytime they suspect anybody with a bullet wound to report to the nearest police formation.
“We are created to protect you, if you see something, please say something,” the statement added.
