NAN)The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has directed its personnel to be efficient in protecting lives and property.
Mohammed Dandare, NSCDC Corps Commander in the state, gave the directive in Minna on Wednesday.
He was addressing officers of the command on the occasion of the International Day of Peace entitled: “End Rasicm, Build Peace”.
Dandare said that achieving lasting “peace is not only by laying down arms but building a society where all members feel a sense of belonging and feel treated equally regardless of their race, tribal and religion affiliations.
He therefore admonished officers and men of the command to always support any movement towards building, peace, equality and human right.
He also called on the public to shun violence, tribal and religion sentiment towards building everlasting peace in our society.
He said that the command was working in conjunction with other security agencies to deal with any form of security threats in the state.
He also called on residents to volunteer information that would lead to the arrest and prosecution of criminals in the state.
