Mr Matthew Ovey has assumed duty as the new Commandant, Imo Command, of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ovey took over from the erstwhile Acting Commandant, Mr Chukwuemeka Odimba, in a brief ceremony at the command headquarters in Owerri on Tuesday.
Ovey thanked the outgoing commandant and solicited the support of all personnel to enable the command discharge its responsibilities effectively.
He appreciated the Commandant-General, Mr Ahmed Abubakar-Audi, for the appointment and pledged to justify the trust reposed in him.
