Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Jigawa State Command have on Saturday, 2nd day of March 2024 arrested one Hamim Auwalu, ‘m’, aged 26, and Ashiru Muhammad, ‘m’, aged 24, on alleged murder of one Tahir Adamu Hassan of Gida Dubu Yadi, Dutse LGA, Jigawa State.
Their arrest was prompted following a complaint lodged by the father of Tahir Adamu Hassan who reported at the NSCDC Divisional office, Dutse that on Saturday, 2nd of March, 2024, his son Tahir left home but didn’t not return but before he left, he told his mother that he’s going to his friend’s shop to do some carpentry work for him. Thereafter, all efforts to reach him via his phone proved abortive as the phone was switched off.
Upon receipt of the information, NSCDC personnel swung into action where they tracked down the friends that called him and brought them to the Command for interrogation.
Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to have killed their friend, Tahir.
According to their confession, their intention was to kidnap him and contact his family for ransom after knowing that his retired father has received his retirement benefits.
However, they took him to a Pure Water Factory (MJ Namaliya) at the same address, but later they realized their mistake which they decided to kill him to avoid being arrested afterwards. They used an axe and stones in killing him, thereafter buried his remains in the table water factory.
Subsequently, on Wednesday 6th March, 2024, the NSCDC investigation team drawn from Intelligence and Investigation, Medical Unit as well as medical personnel from Rasheed Shekoni Teaching Hospital Dutse and the relatives of the victim went to the crime scene where the body was exhumed for fact findings as well as proper burial by the deceased family.
But before the body was handed over to the family for burial, It was taken to Rasheed Shekoni Teaching Hospital Dutse for full scale medical examinations to ascertain the true cause of his death.
Similarly, on Wednesday, 6th day of March, 2024 at about 1500hrs, one Aminu Ado ‘M’ aged 24 and Ibrahim Haruna ‘M’ aged 20 all of Maisilbi Village, Sule Tankarkar LGA were arrested in connection with theft, contrary to section 286 of the Penal Code Law.
The suspects were apprehended when they sneaked and took a Motorcycle, Kasea Red Colour with chasis number LAELEZ413NML50612 and engine number;157FM221150465 parked by the house of the owner, one Damuna Ibrahim ‘M’ aged 45yrs of Maisilbi village in Sule Tankakar LGA.
Luck ran out of them when the owner followed their footsteps and finally caught up with them where he shouted for help. One of the suspects, Hassan is now at large. The Motorcycle is valued at Eight Hundred and Fifty thousand Naira (#850,000).
In the same vein, one Adamu Bawa ‘M’ aged 33 of Billiri Quarters, Bayan Kasuwa in Gombe State was arrested in Dutse on Friday 08th of March, 2024 at about 2300hrs on a suspected cases of vandalisation, theft and criminal conspiracy.
While Adamu was arrested, his accomplice named Salim is currently at large.
The duo conspired, vandalised and stole armored cable that provides lights at Local Government Waterboard between Shuwari and Ajawa villages in Kiyawa LGA, plunging the whole waterboard and the area into darkness.Their intention was to sale the stolen armored cables. Investigation is ongoing to ascertain whether the suspects have a hand in the recent Vandalisation and Theft of armoured cables at various Water Plants in Dutse and Kiyawa local Government Areas respectively.
Furthermore, NSCDC operatives equally arrested one Halipha Abdullahi ‘M’ aged 23 of Gida Dubu Quarters in Dutse LGA on Friday, 8th of March 2024 at about 1500hrs on a suspected case of theft and trespass.
His arrest followed a complaint lodged by one Ukashatu Aminu ‘M’ aged 41, a Civil Servant and a resident of Gida Dubu Yadi Quarters in Dutse LGA. That on the same day, someone trespassed into his house and stole almost all his belongings ranging from camp gas cylinder, pots, curtains, mattress, bed-sheets, fridge, foodstuffs and many more.
Upon receipt of this information, NSCDC personnel swung into action and afterwards arrested Halipha Abdullahi on credible intelligence.
